About Pace Grace
If anything, Pace Grace was not meant to be. The members of the popgroup initially set out to have entirely different careers. A lingering sense of discontent about the way their lives unfolded had prompted them to take action. Despite their diverging backgrounds, by 1997 the group was formed in its current line-up. Its name was inspired by the 1950s Sir William Lyons' Jaguar slogan 'Space Pace and Grace. The musicians had independently of one another found the need to express to have gained the upper hand in their personal lives. They were tired of working for the boss and not be in full control of their capacities and potential. What now bound them was the nerve to change and the wish to see how far they could take it. The decision to go professional was made without saying.
The band commenced with none of their members having any prior knowledge on professional music making. The recording industry was entirely new to them. Their playing capacities were deemed to be low. Pace Grace were turned down by record company after record company. Their frontman and guitarist got expelled from the conservatorium due to his 'insufficient musical qualities' and was left to find other ways. Without the benefit of coming or advanced musicians Pace Grace became a non-promising, spit on band. They were bluntly told that they would never get it together, that they would not stand a chance of surviving let alone earn themselves a record-deal.Notwithstandingly Pace Grace are:
Humphrey Frank Arthur leadvocals, guitars
Frances Young vocals, bassguitar
Louis van den Enden, drums, percussion
